A Major Controversy Is Raging Over an Altcoin: If Users Don’t Make the Switch Within Five Days, All Their Tokens Will Be Burned

The LEND-$AAVE migration process, which has been a long-standing topic of discussion within the Aave ecosystem, has sparked renewed debate.
Aave Labs’ new proposal, which unexpectedly progressed to the AIP (Aave Improvement Proposal) stage, attracted attention by giving LEND token holders a limited time frame. According to the shared information, users who currently hold LEND tokens have only 5 days to convert them to $AAVE. Users who do not complete the conversion within this period will completely lose their right to switch, and their remaining LEND tokens may become worthless.

The proposal also includes the complete termination of the LEND-$AAVE transition contract, transferring unused budgets and remaining tokens/issues to the Ecosystem Reserve. Aave Labs states that this step aims to reduce the operational burden on the system and simplify integrations. However, the process has sparked debate within the community. Some participants criticize the timing of this transition, which they previously supported, for being implemented “overnight” and at a time when the DAO ownership structure was changing. The criticism centers on the timing of the decision and whether it allowed users sufficient time to prepare. On the other hand, it is estimated that approximately $30 million worth of LEND tokens are still in circulation at current market prices.
