Charles Hoskinson Gives Thumbs Up to Pair of Cryptocurrency Rivals

In a recent appearance on "The Breakdown" podcast, hosted by David Gokhshtein, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson expressed his admiration for the Filecoin and Monero blockchain networks. Hoskinson highlighted Filecoin's impressive capacity for decentralized storage, noting that the network boasts an enormous repository of data - dozens of exabytes, to be exact. To put this staggering figure into perspective, he explained that downloading a single exabyte would take approximately 250 years, even with a relatively fast 1 GB internet connection. This sheer scale, he emphasized, positions Filecoin as a system that rivals the internet itself in terms of its vast storage capabilities.

Hoskinson also revealed that his team has been exploring various decentralized storage solutions and has ultimately decided to integrate Filecoin, alongside Midnight, into their operations. He praised the network's exceptional storage capacity, which he believes makes it the ideal choice for their needs. Additionally, Hoskinson voiced his appreciation for Monero, acknowledging the altcoin's trailblazing efforts in the cryptocurrency space. He extended an open invitation for collaboration, suggesting that his team would be thrilled to support Monero in areas such as liquidity, DeFi, and other initiatives, citing the potential for a mutually beneficial partnership. It's worth noting that these comments should not be taken as investment advice.
