Democratic lawmakers pressed to advance comprehensive cryptocurrency legislation by billionaire investor Mike Novogratz.

Mike Novogratz, a prominent market veteran and lifelong Democrat, is calling on his party to stop hesitating and pass the CLARITY Act.

The cryptocurrency mogul has recalled his prior experience in wrestling and the cockpit to stress why "hesitation costs you."

He expressed concern that the loudest voices on the left are currently handing away the future of technology that will define American power in this century.

"The lesson is always the same: cede the center of the ring, and you don't get it back. That is the risk the Democratic Party, my party, is running today on crypto," Novogratz said.

Novogratz claims that crypto will shape America's power this century, urging the party to ignore the "loudest voices on the left."

The global race

Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has stated that the CLARITY Act is "closer than ever".

According to Armstrong, the passage of the framework will be beneficial for the American public by making the financial system more efficient and more accessible.

He has stressed that passing the legislation is essential for ensuring the United States leads the global race to build the next generation of financial infrastructure.

The extremely influential CEO has stressed that it is essential to pass the legislation to make sure that America remains in the lead when it comes to crypto.

"Anti-DeFi" amendments

Meanwhile, more than 100 new amendments have stalled the passage of the high-stakes bill.

The DeFi Education Fund (DEF) has sounded the alarm over a subset of these proposals, which it describes as "anti-DeFi".

According to DEF, these amendments were filed by Democratic Senators Catherine Cortez Masto, Andy Kim, Chris Van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren, and Jack Reed to remove protections for non-controlling software developers and DeFi front ends and target tokenization provisions.

DEF is currently urging supporters to lobby senators against these amendments.
