Poland's Sejm, the lower house of parliament, passed a cryptocurrency regulation bill on 15 May 2026 by a vote of 241 to 200. The bill transposes the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, known as MiCA, into Polish national law. MiCA is an EU framework that sets licensing and operational rules for cryptocurrency service providers. The bill now moves to the Senate for review. President Nawrocki has vetoed two earlier versions of the bill.

Poland faces July deadline for MiCA compliancePoland must complete MiCA transposition by July 2026. Cryptocurrency firms operating in Poland without a valid licence under the new rules risk losing the right to offer services. The Polish Financial Supervision Authority, known as KNF, will act as the designated regulatory watchdog under the new framework.
