New York Stock Exchange Welcomes Innovative BHYP Listing, Integrating Staking Capabilities for Spot Cryptocurrency Exposure

On 15 May 2026, Bitwise Asset Management began trading a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). An ETF is a fund that trades on a stock exchange and holds an underlying asset. This fund holds the token HYPE, the native asset of the Hyperliquid blockchain. The fund trades under the ticker symbol BHYP.

What Hyperliquid and HYPE areHyperliquid is a blockchain platform focused on derivatives trading. Derivatives are financial contracts whose value depends on the price of another asset. The HYPE token is the native asset of the Hyperliquid platform. According to Bitwise, when trading activity on the Hyperliquid platform increases, token holders directly benefit from that activity.

"Hyperliquid's token is explicitly designed so that rising trading activity on the Hyperliquid platform directly benefits token holders. We think it's one of the most exciting assets in crypto.", 15 May 2026. — Matt Hougan, Chief Investment Officer, Bitwise Asset Management

Fund distributes staking rewards to shareholdersThe BHYP ETF is the first US-listed ETF to offer staking rewards alongside HYPE exposure. Staking is a process where a token holder locks their tokens in a blockchain network to support its operations and earns rewards in return. The fund intends to stake its HYPE holdings and distribute those rewards periodically to shareholders. The base HYPE staking yield is approximately 2.2%. Staking rewards are not guaranteed and carry validator performance and protocol security risks.

Bitwise Onchain Solutions handles the stakingStaking operations for the fund run through Bitwise Onchain Solutions, an in-house division of Bitwise Asset Management dedicated to staking services. This structure keeps staking activity within the same organisation that manages the fund.

Separate European BHYP product also existsA separate Bitwise product also uses the ticker BHYP on Deutsche Börse Xetra, a European stock exchange. That product launched in April 2026 and carries the International Securities Identification Number DE000A4ARTJ5. It is a distinct product from the US-listed NYSE ETF. The two products share a ticker but are separate funds listed on different exchanges in different jurisdictions. Hyperliquid is a blockchain platform focused on derivatives trading.
