Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson defended the deployment of AI‑generated content after criticism erupted over a recent post on the IOHK X social channel.
Midnight City Progress
Hoskinson explained that development of Midnight City, an interactive AI simulation built for the Midnight Network, remains a priority. The platform mirrors a living society where autonomous agents perform jobs, trade goods, and generate economic activity, allowing investors to observe transactions from public, auditor, and regulatory perspectives.
The Midnight City team recently experimented with AI‑created influencers, one of which appeared on the Input Output X account to illustrate emerging possibilities. Although the showcase was intended in good faith, it provoked a wave of negative feedback from the community.
AI‑Driven Marketing Strategy
During the same discussion, Hoskinson highlighted OpenClaw, an AI agent framework he described as one of the fastest‑growing open‑source projects ever. He argued that as the Cardano ecosystem expands, traditional community and media teams cannot scale linearly with the user base.
“We’ll need agents and AI to organize, filter, and regularly broadcast what’s happening in Midnight City,” Hoskinson said, emphasizing the necessity for continued investment in AI tools to support blockchain marketing and communication efforts.
