Farage blamed for under-valuing Harborne jet loan by $666K

1 min read

Nigel Farage, leader of Reform UK, faces a possible referral to parliamentary authorities after he under‑declared a private jet donation from billionaire crypto investor Christopher Harborne.

Alleged Misvaluation of Jet Donation

Anna Turley, chair of the Labour Party, sent a letter to Farage insisting that his declared donation of £12,500 (US$16,500) does not reflect market rates for private jet services. Turley highlighted that Farage later revised the figure to £25,000 (US$33,500) but still fell short of the estimated cost for a 23‑hour flight to the Chagos Islands. She calculated that a comparable charter should range from £189,000 (US$250,000) to £529,000 (US$700,000).

Parliamentary Warning and Potential Referral

Turley warned Farage that failure to provide a complete and accurate account will compel her to involve the parliamentary authorities. The warning targets Farage’s handling of the donation, which investors and market observers have scrutinized for transparency.
