HIVE Digital jumps 12% on $220M GPU cloud deal

2 min read

HIVE Digital Technologies (ticker HIVE) saw its share price jump nearly 12% in pre‑market trading on Thursday after the company disclosed two major corporate developments.

Share Performance and Investor Sentiment

Before the news broke, HIVE stock hovered around $3.97 per share. Over the past twelve months, the price appreciation reached 125%, reflecting strong investor confidence in the firm’s blockchain‑related ventures. The sudden rally underscores how quickly market participants can react to strategic announcements.

GPU Cloud Services Agreement

BUZZ High Performance Computing Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of HIVE, sealed a three‑year GPU cloud services contract valued at approximately $220 million with Bell Canada and AI firm Cohere. The deal combines Bell’s AI Fabric data‑center network, Cohere’s enterprise AI solutions, and BUZZ’s NVIDIA‑powered cloud platform.

BUZZ will deploy 2,304 NVIDIA Grace Blackwell GPUs within NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 rack‑scale configurations at Bell’s Merritt campus in British Columbia. The infrastructure is slated to become operational between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027, delivering high‑performance computing for Cohere’s AI applications used by Canadian federal agencies and large enterprises.

Market Outlook

Analysts expect the partnership to reinforce HIVE’s position in the crypto and blockchain ecosystem by providing the computing horsepower required for next‑generation AI services. As investors monitor the rollout, the anticipated boost to revenue could further elevate HIVE’s market valuation. Continued expansion of GPU‑driven cloud capabilities may attract additional capital into the company’s crypto‑focused initiatives.
