Maple has launched syrupUSDG on the Robinhood Chain, granting investors direct exposure to the firm’s institutional credit strategies through the USDG stablecoin, which Paxos issues on behalf of the Global Dollar Network.
Product Launch Details
The new syrupUSDG asset links Maple’s credit expertise with a regulated stablecoin that maintains a 1 USD price peg, reinforcing confidence among crypto investors. Maple’s existing Syrup suite already includes syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT, and the company now offers on‑chain verification of loan and collateral data via its Proof of Reserves system.
Collateral Integration
Steakhouse Financial, a decentralized risk‑management platform, has authorized syrupUSDG as eligible collateral for the vault that powers Robinhood Earn. The lending feature will be introduced to Robinhood users incrementally over the next several weeks, expanding the crypto market’s range of secured borrowing options.
Market Impact
Since 2022, Maple reports having originated more than $22 billion in institutional loans, each secured by collateral that exceeds the borrowed amount. Investor earnings stem from interest accrued on those loans, positioning syrupUSDG as a yield‑focused product within the broader blockchain ecosystem. Currently, syrupUSDG operates on Ethereum and Robinhood Chain, with plans to add further blockchain support as demand from crypto investors grows.
