Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin recorded a $55.9 million burn during the most recent seven‑day period, while minting shrank to $8.8 million, per the Ripple stablecoin tracker.
Weekly Burn and Mint Dynamics
June opened with a surge of activity, seeing $127.4 million newly minted and $12 million destroyed on day one. As the month progressed, the pace reversed, and the latest week showed more tokens removed than created. Compared with May, the overall volume dropped despite multiple announcements surrounding RLUSD.
June Milestones for RLUSD
At the start of June, RLUSD became operational on Wormhole’s Native Token Transfers, enabling native movement across several blockchain ecosystems and supporting cross‑border payments and tokenization scenarios. Later in the month, payment network Mastercard announced its intention to settle transactions using regulated stablecoins, explicitly naming Ripple’s RLUSD. Ripple interprets Mastercard’s endorsement as evidence of growing institutional appetite for compliant, USD‑backed liquidity on the XRP Ledger.
