Telegram Founder Pavel Durov’s Latest Announcement Sent the Toncoin (TON) Price Soaring

Telegram founder Pavel Durov announced a significant shift in direction for the $TON ecosystem. According to Durov, Telegram will replace the $TON Foundation, becoming the network’s primary driver and also its largest validator.

Under the new strategy, Telegram is expected to place a stronger focus on $TON’s technical performance. Accordingly, updates including a new official website for the network, developer tools, and performance improvements will be rolled out within the next 2 to 3 weeks. This move aims to increase $TON’s scalability and user experience. The official Toncoin website is also currently in maintenance mode, displaying a message indicating that certain changes have been made.

Following this development, Toncoin experienced an increase of approximately 7% during the day and is currently trading at $1.44 at the time of writing. The altcoin’s total market capitalization has risen to $3.9 billion. However, $TON is still trading approximately 82% below its all-time high price.
