U.S. President Donald Trump Responds to Iran’s Proposal

US President Donald Trump expressed his dissatisfaction with the latest offer in negotiations to end the war with Iran. Speaking to reporters at the White House, Trump said that the Tehran administration wanted a deal, but the current offer did not meet their expectations.

While acknowledging that Iran has made progress in the negotiation process, Trump expressed doubts about whether a final agreement could be reached. Arguing that there are serious disagreements within the Iranian leadership, Trump described the leadership structure as “fragmented” and “incoherent.” The US President stated that different groups within Iran are willing to reach an agreement but are struggling to find common ground.

On the other hand, Trump also reacted strongly to the legislation requiring congressional approval for the continuation of US military operations against Iran. Referring to the debates surrounding the 1973 War Powers Resolution, which requires the president to obtain authorization from Congress within 60 days, Trump described the regulation as “completely unconstitutional.”

President Trump, noting that the US administration has never requested such authorizations in the past, signaled that he would not seek formal approval from Congress in this case either. While some members of Congress argue that the 60-day period has expired given that the conflict began on March 2nd, the administration claims that the ceasefire process has halted this period. *This is not investment advice.
